Networks

Mahon CDP are involved in Networks in the Mahon area. The Networks are made up of local volunteers and people working in the Mahon area.

MAHON CHILDCARE NETWORK

Due to linking and communication which takes place under the Network there is a community wide approach to childcare provision and progression from 6mts to 12 yrs.

There is a tracking and support system in place for children and their families.
Local parents can avail of education, training and employment opportunities.

The Network initiated a local St. Patrick's Day Parade, this encouraged a variety of organisations, groups and volunteers to work together collectively.

This is the first time that there has been collective community wide celebration event for ten years.

Through a culmination of lobbying, Cork City Council and Southern Health Board have linked with the Childcare Network to work towards the provision of a local supervised play area.
